My piece for the next Pokezine, Glitch Pokezine!! This is 'M, aka M Block. It is a “sibling” to Missingno. because they look similar and both cause the item duplication glitch.
I was fascinated by glitches in Red/Blue but I was scared to death of ever actually running across ‘M due to the (untrue!!) rumors that catching it would destroy your game! I eventually got brave enough to try it out, but I freaked out as soon as it evolved into a Kangaskhan and immediately tossed it. This guy also (temporarily) put a Mew in my Hall of Fame during a time where there was no real known way to catch one! I stared at it for hours. Good memories associated with glitches!

Concept art by Nicholas Kole

It hurts me to know Project Copernicus MMO isn’t going to be made. 38 Studios had financial problems after creating Kingdoms of Amalur (the single-player game created as a pre-cursor for Project Copernicus).

The art in Kingdoms of Amalur and Project Copernicus hits that special happy place for me - it’s whimsical and colourful. More screenshots of what they’ve created in Project Copernicus coming up :}

Good luck to all of you.  it is a special day when you get a 94 on metacritic then lay your whole team off.

<3

Well, when it apparently cost 20 mil to make you can’t exactly get away with anything (“bad” sales, “bad” scores, etc). Hopefully everyone finds a place somewhere else alright.

Yeah, I’m not too worried. These guys are gonna have no problem getting further work.

I actually agree with Levine’s decision - the industry desperately needs to move away from multi-million dollar budgets/being strongarmed by publishers and get back to where we left off at the end of the 90s/very early 00s. 15 years of mopping up after whatever the fuck Ubisoft/EA/2K/insertpublisherhere’s loving prolapse of demands are is more than enough creative constriction/stagnation, imo.

So im gonna rant here for a bit…

Bleh wow so many sour people, Im sorry when I posted this i was more concerned with the tons of people who lost their jobs, or the friend of mine who the industry has been so unkind to she hasnt had a stable job in the past 3 years, she has to constantly move, pay extra rent, file new taxes, change all of her living conditions, health insurance and what not constantly, and for someone like me who changed companies 3 times in 6 months I can tell you, you hate it, and you cry about it.

No more multi million dollar titles? MOST if not ALL AAA titles are 18-25 million dollars…. indie games dont pay well and more often then not see no profits.  Big name titles give you health insurance, and scarily MORE security than indie so called small titles.

None of us know what REALLY happened and I honestly dont want to jump on the bandwagon of haters of companies or of Lavine because who knows what conditions any of this were under.

Also for the record they didnt have "poor sales" or "bad numbers" and we all think a 94 is pretty darn good….

No problem getting further work? Yeah maybe… but our industry is over saturated and we have lost so many studios  last year… the year before that and the ride is tiring.

Pardon me but I am very sour at the people who are not thinking about the peoples whos lives are turned upside down by this OR by the people who LOVE their job, who LOVE the freedom and the TECH we get from multi million dollar jobs.  we APPRECIATE our salaries and our jobs, the creative freedom we are allowed because we dont have to work out of a basement and eat spam for every meal, we love our trade we love our competition, getting paid to go to conferences, developing new engines and having the resources!

Neither indie or high budget are above one another… this is about people who are struggling and suffering to do what they love… Not about being pleased to see people lose their job so you can have throwbacks to 90’s games.

rant done… I’m gonna go sob now.  People can seriously be mean.  I love my industry, I love my job and the low blows people pull when people are struck by hard times sucks.

chanterbury asked: roach i need some horse art tips. im working on my horses recently and still having trouble simplifying their muscly curves and i remember you doing it with such ease in my sketchbook. do you have any wisdom that might help me

Answer:

roachpatrol:

hi dude! ok, i traced out how i see the main Chunks Of Horse.

image

they got weird pecs up front, that slot into kind of a pentagon shape. the biceps wrap around. there’s that kind of notch where the front arm/leg goes in at the elbow, which is almost always level with the ribcage/chest. don’t draw the front leg going too high up it looks super weird when people do that.

image

the butt scrunches in back when compressed by a standing or gathered back leg, and streches when the leg’s extended, but the top of the butt from the tail up to the hips is generally angular. also, the back ankle is a bit above the front wrist. it varies by breed.

image

note the deep triangular indents where the neck muscles connect to the shoulders, and again where the thighs/haunches and the hips meet under the skin. though the muscles of the butt and shoulders are bunchy and dramatic, the legs don’t stick out from the body until the elbow and knee, pretty much.

hope this helps!
